Job Summary

The Charge Nurse in the Operating Room delegates, coordinates and re-adjusts patient assignments. The Charge Nurse works collaboratively with the team leads to enhance the throughput, quality and customer service in their area. They are responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with CMS and TJC standards, delegating responsibilities to staff, performance improvement, patient safety and customer service. Maintains general overview of surgeons and their needs. Collaborates and communicates with anesthesia, PACU, ASU, SPD, and other healthcare members to ensure throughput of surgical patients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (BSN) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in State of Georgia
  • If a Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN), four (4) or more years direct patient care RN experience including in a charge role.
  • RN with a BSN, two (2) or more years direct patient care RN experience including in a charge role preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Card.
