Hospice Clinical Director

We are seeking an experienced Hospice Clinical Director to lead the clinical operations of a hospice organization in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
The Clinical Director will oversee the hospice clinical team, ensure high-quality patient care, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide hands-on leadership to nurses and interdisciplinary team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospice RN leader who enjoys developing teams and maintaining strong clinical standards.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day hospice clinical operations
Supervise and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, and other interdisciplinary team members
Ensure patients receive appropriate, compassionate, and high-quality end-of-life care
Oversee admissions, recertifications, plans of care, case management, and clinical documentation
Monitor patient caseloads, staffing levels, productivity, and scheduling
Ensure compliance with Medicare, CMS, Massachusetts, and hospice regulatory requirements
Lead and participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings
Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
Conduct chart reviews and ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant
Provide coaching, education, and performance management for clinical staff
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of clinical team members
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and other leadership
Participate in survey preparation and maintain survey readiness
Promote a positive, accountable, and patient-centered clinical culture
Qualifications
Active Massachusetts RN license required
Hospice experience required
Previous hospice clinical leadership experience strongly preferred
Experience as a Clinical Director, Director of Nursing, Patient Care Manager, Clinical Manager, or similar leadership role preferred
Strong knowledge of hospice Conditions of Participation, Medicare requirements, and clinical documentation
Experience supervising and developing clinical staff
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospice environment
