Utilizing the nursing process and professional standards, the RN maintains overall accountability for patient outcomes while collaborating with and delegating tasks to a multidisciplinary surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care: Manage and deliver high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing.
Leadership & Accountability: Perform all staff nurse activities and step into the Charge Nurse role when assigned.
Team Collaboration: Maintain overall responsibility for assigned patients while effectively delegating tasks to Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Associates, Guest Associates, and Anesthesia Technologists.
Compliance: Ensure all clinical activities align strictly with departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Note: Associates Degree accepted, but new hires must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire or transfer.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- PALS (Required within 6 months of hire/transfer)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of relevant perioperative nursing experience.
Education/Credentials: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a relevant Specialty Certification (e.g., CNOR).
