Gastroenterology, Advanced Practice Provider

$55.20 - $63.65 / hour

Overview

JOB SPECIFICS

  • Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, including assessments, consults, admissions, discharges, and inpatient rounding.
  • Partner with gastroenterologists to support a growing GI service line and increasing patient demand.
  • Manage GI patients in the clinic, ensuring timely access, continuity of care, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with colorectal surgeons on GI-related office visits and endoscopic care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with multidisciplinary providers.
  • Prepare patients for GI procedures, manage post-procedure care, and coordinate transitions of care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Educate patients and families on GI conditions, treatments, lifestyle modifications, and disease management.
  • Perform GI-related procedures within scope of practice and privileging.
  • Work collaboratively with gastroenterologists, APPs, residents, nursing staff, and other care team members.
  • 1st shift days, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, no call required.

  • Providers with previous gastroenterology experience are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment
  • Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20 - $63.65. This position is salaried.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
  • BLS/ACLS Certified.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served. Gastroenterology experience is preferred, new graduates will be considered.
