Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Illinois RN license required
  • Previous school nursing experience or robust clinical background in pediatrics strongly preferred
  • Understanding of school protocols, with the ability to act decisively during urgent situations
  • Familiarity with district or state requirements (such as PEL or specific certifications), if applicable
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills, especially in fast-paced environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff during school hours
  • Triage and respond swiftly to medical emergencies while maintaining composure
  • Develop and implement care plans for students with chronic conditions
  • Educate students and staff on health practices, medication administration, and disease prevention
  • Document all care accurately and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and district personnel to support each students health needs
