Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license in Illinois
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications
  • Prior experience in school nursing, pediatric, or community health settings is strongly preferred
  • Confident clinical assessment and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage health needs for students ages 614
  • Comfortable working independently and prioritizing tasks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in the school health office
  • Assess and address student illnesses and injuries, administering first aid as necessary
  • Manage medications and chronic health conditions according to physician orders
  • Maintain health records, documentation, and communication with families
  • Support public health initiatives, screenings, and immunization compliance
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for student health and wellness
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to foster a safe and healthy school environment
  • Assist with health education and contribute to schoolwide safety protocols
