Job Responsibilities

  • Prepping and administering medications to patients and residents in post-acute facilities near you
  • Supervising residents' self-administration of medications, including reminders as needed
  • Verifying the right person, drug, dose, route, and time against the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
  • Documenting interventions, vital signs, or other data related to medication administration
  • Maintaining confidentiality of residents
  • Reporting to the supervising nurse with any issues or concerns
  • Assisting residents with activities of daily life (ADLs)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current Ohio Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (minimum)
  • Applicable state nursing assistant certification (CNA/LNA/STNA)
  • At least one year of experience as a nursing assistant (or related role)
  • Understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Ability to complete and pass First Aid, CPR, and BMC-designated behavior management training during the orientation period and maintain all certifications throughout employment. 10. Ability to physically respond to and manage client behavior challenges utilizing BMC-approved and trained behavioral management techniques. 15. Strong organizational skills.
