Job Responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality, resident-centered care while working as a RN in post-acute facilities
  • Coordinating with the broader care team to shape personalized care plans for residents
  • Communicating various care options with medical staff, residents, and their family members
  • Taking and monitoring vital signs and drawing fluids as needed for lab work
  • Delivering medications and administering treatments to residents
  • Documenting vital signs, nursing interventions and responses, medical histories, and other relevant information in resident records
  • Ensuring the effective use of medical equipment and devices
  • Assisting staff members with incident investigations
  • Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards of care

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current Connecticut state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Graduation from an approved nursing program
  • At least 6 months of experience (RN or related role)
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs

A Nursing Home Company has a special temporary rate of $70/hr available for experienced DNS (RN) Hours available: Mon- Friday 7-3pm Position Summary : We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated interim DNS to join our team. This position combines leadership in nursing administration supporting the facility’s commitment to providing high-quality care in compliance with state and federal guidelines. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and passionate about fostering a safe, healthy environment for both residents and staff. Key Responsibilities : The interim RN Director of Nursing Services plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Nursing Services Department, its programs and activities within approved budget and quality standards in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that all written nursing policies, procedures, and manuals are adhered to, maintained and updated. Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance program. Participates in surveys and inspections by government agencies and implements actions to correct deficiencies. The RN Director of Nursing Services coordinates nursing services with all other resident services and other facility staff. Fosters and maintains inter-departmental communication and cooperation to ensure that issues are addressed and corrected. Ensures proper resident discharge procedures and plans. In the absence of Administrator assumes overall responsibility for the entire facility. For the entire Nursing Services Department, the interim RN Director of Nursing Services develops the organizational structures, staffing and directions within policy and budgetary guidelines. Responsible for the department personnel function in hiring qualified staff; ensuring adequate staffing levels and ensuring that all nursing staff receive performance evaluations on an annual basis and as-needed. The interim RN Director of Nurses is responsible for coordinating nursing staff discipline as needed Provides direction, guidance and counsel. The interim RN Director of Nursing Services reviews personnel complaints and grievances and ensures that all staff are treated fairly and consistently with policies and applicable laws. Responsible for directing internal investigations and overseeing incident reporting. Qualifications : Current, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut. Minimum of 3 years of experience in long-term care, with a strong background in infection control, wound care, and/or nursing leadership. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, infection control, and wound care documentation software. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.
