Hourly Rate: Min: $20.48 Max: $31.36 Float Pool Day Shift 6:30am-7:00pm Mon, Tues, Sat/ sun, Mon, Tues Holiday A Definition of Position : Provide compassionate, patient-centered care by assisting patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility, while promoting comfort, dignity, and safety. Obtain and document vital signs, accurately record patient care, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the licensed nursing staff. Maintain a safe, clean environment and support quality patient care while working under the direction and supervision of registered nurses and other licensed healthcare professionals. As a Float Pool CNA, adapt quickly to varying patient populations and clinical environments by providing coverage across multiple hospital departments based on staffing and patient care needs. Float assignments may include, but are not limited to, Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), Family Birth Center, Treatment Center, and Surgical Services. Perform established responsibilities as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Ward Clerk, and/or Patient Sitter as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to deliver high-quality care in fast-paced and diverse healthcare settings. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions : Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality Convey empathy and compassion to both patients and coworkers. Report to primary nurse or shift charge nurse any changes in patient condition. Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation. Communicate effectively and therapeutically with patients and their friends, family, and caregivers. Able to provide a CNA level scope of care based on Oregon State Board of Nursing, age specific, cultural, physical and psychosocial well-being. Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum). Performs other related duties as assigned. The position also involves occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling when assisting patients or accessing equipment. Walking and standing are typically continuous throughout the shift. The role requires the ability to lift to 50 pounds independently and involves frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, or repositioning of objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds. There may also be occasional lifting or transferring of individuals weighing over 100 pounds, with the expectation that appropriate lifting techniques, mechanical aids, or team assistance will be used to ensure safety. May to sit for long periods of time. Working Conditions: This position is performed primarily in an indoor healthcare environment, such as a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility. While the work setting is protected from outdoor weather conditions, it may be subject to variable indoor temperatures. The role involves frequent exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment, with the expectation that all staff follow appropriate safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The health care environment can be fast-paced and unpredictable, requiring the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, including high-pressure or emergency situations.
