Assists patients with activities of daily life (bath, feed, play, etc.) and provides other patient care as directed. Clinical Nurse RN - Lakewood GI Lab 101 Truman Medical Center Job Location UH Lakewood Medical Center Kansas City, Missouri Department GI Lab UHLMC Position Type Full time Work Schedule 7:30AM - 4:00PM Hours Per Week 40 Job Description A Registered Nurse who assists in the assessment and care of patients undergoing gastroenterology procedures, including pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post procedural care. Assists in endoscopic procedures as well as other GI procedures to include liver biopsies, anorectal and esophageal manometry, 24 hour ph, pill cam and paracentesis. Provides moderate sedation if needed. Follow established standards and practices under the direction of a gastroenterologist. Sets up equipment for procedural being performed, obtains and records patient data, and assesses patient during these procedures and delivers therapy. The Registered Nurse is required to be a part of team on call for emergency procedures after hours, weekends, and holidays. Initiates emergency interventions as appropriate. Ensures appropriate care, cleaning and maintenance of all equipment. Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing or ADN. Current state of Missouri license as a Registered Nurse.
