You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to: Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device) Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises Measuring and preparing special diets Engage patients in exercises or other activities Measuring intake and output Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with the supervisor Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert Accompany patients on errands or medical appointments. Must Haves: High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate 3 proven experiences as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA). HHA Certificate - (Minimum 40 hours HHA Certificate ) The Home Health Aide shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job Current CPR Certificate and First Aid Training. Responsibilities : Responsible for assisting patients with and per plan of care, the following: Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc. Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency) Safe transfer and ambulation techniques Exercise according to the plan of care Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency) Patient’s laundry Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.) Observation and teaching of home safety practices Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures Must follow patients’ plan of care and complete all tasks assigned Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor Requirements : Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements The Lakes benefits : part-time position.
