Job Summary This is a full-time position with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts, with some weekend and holiday responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of cardiology APP experience. Summary The APP is a licensed provider. The APP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting. -Performs complete histories and physical examinations. -Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. -Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. -Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. -Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries. -Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. -This role is a Cardiology consultant role, responsible for seeing urgent and non urgent consult requests throughout the hospital - The APP will work alongside a Cardiology Attending to assess the patient, determine the diagnostics required and to interpret the results, then communicate the plan of care effectively with the primary team - This role includes weekday/weekend responsibilities with occasional holiday coverage Qualifications Education Master's Degree required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? The patients have a general diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, sickle cell disease, solid tumor cancers, immune disorders, palliative care, and other hematologic malignancies. All disease related care for these case types is performed on the unit, including blood product support and administration of chemotherapy. The unit provides care for allogenic bone marrow transplants (including CAR-T therapy, umbilical cord blood transplant, matched unrelated donors and Haplo donors) and autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplant patients. The unit participates in infusional therapy for clinical trials as they relate to inpatient status.
