Job Responsibilities Prepping and administering medications to patients and residents in post-acute facilities near you Supervising residents' self-administration of medications, including reminders as needed Verifying the right person, drug, dose, route, and time against the Medication Administration Record (MAR) Documenting interventions, vital signs, or other data related to medication administration Maintaining confidentiality of residents Reporting to the supervising nurse with any issues or concerns Assisting residents with activities of daily life (ADLs) Qualifications and Skills Current North Carolina Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification High school diploma or GED (at a minimum) Current state nursing assistant certification (CNA/LNA/STNA) Minimum 1 year of experience as a nursing assistant (or in a related role) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers via the American Heart Association (AHA) Knowledge of pharmacological and medical terminology Ready to Take Control Over Your Work Schedule? How you make a difference The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They provide direct supervision of patient teaching and ensure that ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in their assigned unit. Key Responsibilities Supervising the total health care delivery system in their assigned unit, ensuring compliance with policy and procedure, and coordinating patient care with other departments. Monitoring nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed. Assisting with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements. Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies. Collaborates in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines. Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures, implements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel. Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high-quality patient care.
