Position Responsibilities: Assists with breastfeeding, adheres to infant abduction policy, and provides safe newborn transitional care. Assesses neonates at delivery, performs neonatal resuscitation, and completes initial newborn assessments on arrival. Performs comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on obstetrical patients and conducts system reassessments each shift. Manages labor patients and assists during epidural anesthesia. Circulates in the operating room and manages patients in the post-anesthesia recovery area. Maintains NPR and fetal monitoring competencies every two years. Obtains, documents, and updates nursing admission assessments and interdisciplinary plans of care. Prioritizes patient care based on problem lists and responds appropriately to diagnostic findings. Assesses family education and psychosocial needs daily across age, growth, and developmental stages. Safely initiates and documents emergency interventions, IV therapy, medication administration, and patient teaching. Demonstrates safe use of unit-specific equipment and follows all standard precautions and aseptic techniques. Performs dressing changes, specimen collection, glucose monitoring, urinary catheter insertion, and oxygen therapy. Reports abnormal findings immediately and coordinates efficient patient transfers with complete documentation. Documents patient responses, evaluates progress toward goals, and revises plans of care as needed. Assesses length of stay and discharge planning needs using available internal and community resources. Maintains annual competencies, attends mandatory trainings and meetings, and uses appropriate communication channels. Demonstrates leadership by delegating duties, participating in PI activities, collecting PI data, and managing daily supply charges. Minimum qualifications: Active Florida RN license. Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications. AWHONN Intermediate certification required within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of fetal monitoring competency testing every 2 years. AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) course required every 2 years. AWHONN OB Operations (OB OPS) class required every 2 years. Position Responsibilities · Performs patient and family teaching regarding endoscopic procedures. · Prepares the endoscopy room appropriately with the necessary medications and accessory devices. · Demonstrate proficiency in the use of endoscopic accessory devices, including hot and cold biopsy forceps, snares, bipolar probes, banding equipment, ERCP catheters, and guidewires. · Evaluates, assesses and documents patient’s Cardio-respiratory status while undergoing moderate sedation, reports abnormal values to physician, and intervenes appropriately. · Performs initial vital signs and admission history to include introduction to patient and family. Assessment of chief compliant and notification of physician within 15 minutes of arrival. · Obtains and documents a complete nursing admission assessment, including physiological and psychological factors to develop a plan of care upon admission. · Performs and documents an accurate system assessment. · Responds to diagnostic data and initiates appropriate action or intervention. · Assesses patient education needs on arrival and discharge. · Assesses psychological needs specific to patient’s age, growth and development. · Initiates plan of care upon completion of assessment. · Establishes priorities for patient care based on patients needs. · Verbalizes understanding of patient diagnosis of plan of care. · Safely and correctly initiates and documents nursing interventions in emergency situations. · Administers, observes and documents effectiveness. Recognizes and reports adverse reactions immediately. · Provides individualized instructions to patient/significant other regarding plan of care. · Demonstrates safe and correct use of unit specific equipment. · Ensures that each patient’s general hygiene needs are met. · Performs Pre-Operative and Post-Operative care and instructions for each assigned patient. · Performs dressing changes using aseptic technique. · Collects and labels specimens per policy when ordered by physician. · Performs bedside glucose monitoring according to policy, performs ostomy care to include irrigation, appliance usage and reinforcement of teaching. · Inserts intermittent or indwelling urinary catheter using aseptic technique. · Administers oxygen therapy according to physician order. · Transfer patients in/out of the GI station in an efficient manner, by obtaining a complete and correct set of physician orders. Position Responsibilities: Management of Payor Processes and Relationships Develops and maintains effective relationships with payors, including contact as required with representatives from payors to ensure accomplishment of utilization management activities Oversees the management of observation cases, both concurrently and retrospectively, as needed. Position Responsibilities · Assists in position and transferring of patients. · Prepares, maintains, and monitors sterile set-up. · Dispose of linens, gloves, and sharps in appropriate containers. · Checks the functionality of equipment and instruments before the procedure. · Notifies the charge nurse and core desk about any broken equipment or instruments. · Ensures the sterile field is maintained until dressings are applied, x-rays are completed, and/or the patient has left the room. · Points out break in sterile technique of self and/or team members to the RN circulator immediately. · Ensures all contaminated items are managed according to infection control protocols, placing them in designated red bags or linen bins. · Replace equipment and supplies used intra-operatively ensuring that they are in good working order. · Insures completeness of instruments trays before and after case. Removes all instruments from sterile drapes. · Demonstrates knowledge of proper care and handling of specialty instruments. · Establish and maintain a neutral zone when passing sharps on the sterile field to prevent exposure/injury to self and others. · Adheres to personal protective equipment protocols at all times. Wear eye protection when scrubbed at the field. · Identifies and labels all medication on back table. · Inspects sterile packages, containers, and trays for integrity prior to placing on sterile field. · Check case supplies according to surgeon’s preference list. · Maintains current CPR status and surgical technician certification. · Assists surgical services assistants with room turnover by disposing of surgical debris in biohazard bags. · Identifies specimens verbally when passing them off to the circulator. · Facilitates and monitors patient safety by providing a safe environment. · Removes and put away unused supplies and sutures after each use. · Demonstrates competence and specialize in at least 1 major service, demonstrating competency, willingness and flexibility to work in other services as needed. · Demonstrates willingness to precept as needed. · All other duties as related to job. Responsibilities: Remotely providing basic patient coaching and care to improve patient outcomes.
