FLSA Status Non-Exempt Job Role Summary The Cath Lab/IR nurse provides clinical care to a variety of patients in the procedural area. The Cath Lab/IR nurse will assist the procedural physician by managing critical medications, providing oversight of patient hemodynamic status, sedation level, as well as document all aspects of the procedure. The Cath Lab/IR nurse will also be responsible for prepping and recovering patients from procedures and providing all necessary patient education and support. This position also requires the nurse to be comfortable practicing with a high-level of autonomy typically acquired from at least 2 years of intensive nursing experience in a unit such as critical care, cath lab, interventional radiology, or the ER. The Staff Nurse II provides clinical care and uses coordination skills for every patient served. Overview Neuro IR: Eskenazi Health Surgery utilizes in a variety of surgical procedures. Use of this cutting edge technology provides alternatives to traditional surgery and delivers precision in minimally invasive procedures. Procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab include: Coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions (stent placement, angioplasty including complex percutaneous interventions, rotablation and temp pacers) Pericardiocentesis Right and left heart catheterization The interventional suite also provides electrophysiology (EP) procedures such as: EP studies and ablations Loop recorders Internal cardiac defibrillator (ICD) placement and cardiac resynchronization therapy Pacemaker implantation and replacement, including His-bundle pacing Call Requirement This position does have a call requirement during the week. When on call, you must be within a 30-minute response window. FLSA Status Non-Exempt Overview Of Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit New Graduate and Registered Nurse provides clinical care and coordination skills to every patient served in the unit using the Eskenazi Health model of care, Synergy. The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse coordinates with the patient, family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to patient care needs. Acuity Adaptable offers all private rooms as well as telemetry monitoring capability. What Schedule Can I Expect? The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit team does take advantage of 6-week self-scheduling where team members request the days they work. We do offer a full time schedule which consists of three 12-hour shifts on either day shift (6:30AM - 7PM) or night shift (7PM - 6:30AM). There are no on-call requirements and team members rotate holidays. What Are Nurse To Patient Ratios? The department follows a primary care nursing model and typically utilizes a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio . Patients vary in acuity and complexity, ranging from Med/Surg to high acuity Progressive Care status. All nurses are supported by 24/7 onsite Manager and Educator support. What Does Training Look Like? Eskenazi Health has a dedicated clinical education team that works with new hires the first week on board. The orientation period is typically 12-weeks and during this timeframe new members will be paired with a preceptor. Continued support is provided by managers, clinical educators, and seasoned staff. One aspect that sets Eskenazi Health apart is there is a clinical educator and manager on every shift, even on weekends! At Eskenazi Health, new acute care nurses are welcomed to the organization through the Linda Hojnacki, RN, Nurse Residency Program. How you make a difference The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) provides psychiatric consultation, diagnostic, and treatment services to patients, including medication management and crisis intervention services, while adhering to established policy and procedure and state guidelines. They maintain documentation required by state or facility guidelines to demonstrate compliance with supervision requirements. Key Responsibilities Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops plans of care, and evaluates effectiveness of interventions, including medication management and crisis intervention services. Maintains thorough documentation in compliance with organization policies and procedures, state guidelines, and best practices, including medication education, seclusion/restraint use, infection control, and risk management. Provides individualized care sensitive to the age and developmental needs of each patient, and participates in on-call schedules and mandatory committees as required. Adheres to established formularies for therapeutic regimens and utilizes established procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while supporting standards of psychiatric care and providing input into committees and meetings as requested. How you make a difference The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies. Key Responsibilities Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed. Implements treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures. Collaborates in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines. Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures, implements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel. Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high-quality patient care. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
