About The Stepdown Unit Our Stepdown Unit at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista is a 35-bed facility focused on high-acuity patients, including those recovering from strokes, cardiac issues, and patients on critical drip protocols and peritoneal dialysis treatments and administration. This unit specializes in continuous cardiac monitoring for conditions such as myocardial infarction, chest pain, unstable angina, hypertension, diabetes, and renal failure. JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Educator - RN works directly with the leadership team and staff to ensure that the unit's educational needs are met. Collaborates with other Educators/CNS-s to ensure that mechanisms are in place to maintain quality patient care, utilizing specialty and other regulatory standards. JOB SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner (NP), Acute Care delivers primary care to patients, including those in the complex and chronically ill population. JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Nurse II collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Resolves patient problems and needs by applying multidisciplinary team strategies. Selects and coordinates the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, developmental level and size of the patient. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, storage procedures and controlled substance regulations. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed. Maintains a collaborative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.
