Organizes assigned medication duties to pour, pass, and document all routine prescribed medications and to give PRN medication only upon the instruction of the licensed nurse. Must document all PRN’s according to State Standards in all areas of the chart. Observe and report to the facility’s charge licensed nurse reactions and side effects of medication commonly administered to nursing facility’s residents. Take and record vital signs prior to administration of medications which could affect or change the vital signs. Administer and document regularly prescribed medications which the medication aide is permitted to administer only after personally preparing (setting up) of those medications to be administered. Document the medications given in the resident’s clinical record. Administer oxygen per nasal channel or a non-sealing face mask only in an emergency. Immediately after the emergency, the medication aide shall verbally notify the licensed nurse on duty or on call and appropriately document the activity and notification. At discretion of charge nurse, count narcotics, give all routine prescribed narcotics, and document same on individual sheet and medication sheet. Qualifications Must have successfully completed state approved school of medication administration. Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency. RN PRN 10P- Women & Children - Adult ICU - 3rd Shift

AICU is an 8-bed Medical/Surgical Adult ICU at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus. Orientation consists of working with an experienced staff and length of orientation is typically 6-12 weeks depending on experience. AICU is the only adult critical care unit at the Women/Children campus. The AICU offers a challenging workflow for RN’s. AICU receives a variety of patients that includes primarily critical Medical patients, but also Antepartum, Postpartum, GYN Oncology, GYN, ENT, and any adult patient at WC that requires intensive monitoring. The RN’s in AICU are trained to care for a variety of critical situations including hemorrhage, critical OB, CRRT, ventilators, and titrating drips. We have 4-beds wired for fetal monitoring that is monitored by an L&D RN on our campus for our critical Antepartum patient. AICU RN’s are responsible for all Rapid Responses and Code Blue situations for the adult patient population at WC. The staff in AICU works closely with health care providers to provide excellent care and compassion to our customers. Our staff has the opportunity to participate in Shared Governance, Clinical Ladder programs, and CEU offerings available online & at Corporate University. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Education: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama licensure. Experience: Experience preferred; new graduates accepted. Labor & Delivery at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is proud to be the highest delivering hospital in the state of Alabama as well as the regional referral center for North Alabama and southern Tennessee. We have 20 Labor Rooms, 3 dedicated OR suites as well as a newly renovated PACU. We have an 11 bed high risk Antepartum unit as well as the first Obstetric Emergency Department in the state of Alabama managed by our team of board certified OB/GYN Hospitalists. We collaborate with many disciplines including our Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to care for a variety of patients along the obstetric spectrum from managing any complication or condition during pregnancy like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes to providing care and support to a mother while laboring and giving birth. The L&D RN is skilled in caring for pregnant patients during labor, obstetrical emergencies and other obstetric conditions. In addition to assisting women throughout labor and the birthing process, the L&D RN is an active role in cesarean section deliveries as the patient’s circulating nurse as well as the scrub nurse that assists the physician with the birth of the infant and the repair of the mother. They provide incredible patient support, critical nursing care and comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum education. RN Staff - Women & Children Adult ICU - PT -3rd Shift

AICU is an 8-bed Medical/Surgical Adult ICU at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus. Orientation consists of working with an experienced staff and length of orientation is typically 6-12 weeks depending on experience. AICU is the only adult critical care unit at the Women/Children campus. The AICU offers a challenging workflow for RN’s. AICU receives a variety of patients that includes primarily critical Medical patients, but also Antepartum, Postpartum, GYN Oncology, GYN, ENT, and any adult patient at WC that requires intensive monitoring. The RN’s in AICU are trained to care for a variety of critical situations including hemorrhage, critical OB, CRRT, ventilators, and titrating drips. We have 4-beds wired for fetal monitoring that is monitored by an L&D RN on our campus for our critical Antepartum patient. AICU RN’s are responsible for all Rapid Responses and Code Blue situations for the adult patient population at WC. The staff in AICU works closely with health care providers to provide excellent care and compassion to our customers. Our staff has the opportunity to participate in Shared Governance, Clinical Ladder programs, and CEU offerings available online & at Corporate University. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is an 11 bed ICU that cares for critically ill children at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. The PICU is staffed by RNs, NPs, and Pediatric Intensivist who work closely together with a supportive multidisciplinary care team to provide acute care to children from 0-18 years of age. We offer a progressive educational program to train staff in pediatric critical care to include monthly inservices from our physicians. The PICU RN provides care for children and adolescents from 0-18 years of age, with life-threatening or high- acuity conditions that require constant monitoring. RN Case Manager - Case Management - FT - 1st Shift

The RN Case Manager is to support the physician and interdisciplinary team in facilitating patient care, with the underlying objective of enhancing the quality of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction while managing the cost of care and providing timely and accurate information to payers. This role integrates and coordinates Utilization management, care coordination and discharge planning functions. The Case Manager is accountable for a designated patient caseload and plans effectively in order to meet patient needs, manage the length of stay, and promote efficient use of resources. Education: Minimum of A.S.N. from an accredited college or university (BSN Preferred) and current Alabama licensure. Experience: Three years acute care experience required.
