The Clinic Nurse Manager is accountable for the quality of patient care, operational efficiency, and human resources management for assigned area(s). The Manager provides leadership and guidance to Medical Assistants (MAs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), and other clinical and administrative staff supporting clinic operations, and performs complex administrative and clinical duties as required. Provides direct clinical oversight, leadership, and guidance to LVNs and MAs. Provides clinical supervision of the clinic LVNs in compliance with state nursing regulations and organizational policy. Partners closely with a non-clinical supervisor to support operational workflows, staffing coordination, and administrative functions, while retaining accountability for clinical standards and patient care. Promotes effective communication and collaborative working relationships among clinical staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and retention of clinical staff in alignment with organizational goals. Collaborates with Human Resources and the Education Department to ensure appropriate orientation, competency validation, and ongoing education for staff. Manages and supervises staff to achieve institutionally determined standards to include: effective communication with staff, physicians and patients, providing feedback, goal setting, responding to patient and staff needs and mentoring and coaching staff to achieve performance improvement and monitors work flow and ensures adherence to policies and procedures; recommends and/or implements changes as necessary to maintain efficiency. Maintains high level of customer service to all internal and external customers by communicating performance standards and expectations to clinic staff, coaches, mentors and develops staff, administering customer satisfaction surveys and responses to them and orient and train staff on specific clinic work processes. Organizes and directs operational processes including: Access to care, telephone service/response times, clinic dwell times, practice and procedure changes, insurance verification, timely submission and completeness of charges, billing compliance, cancellations/bumped appointments, referral tracking and follow up, registration, quality control of correspondence, scheduling and staffing to ensure excellent patient care and service. Ensures successful financial performance of the clinic including: monitoring adequate financial controls for appointments, charges and payment functions, works with collaboratively with transplant administrative leadership to develop clinic budget, tracks performance and variance to budget, ensures appropriate accounting practices and procedures are followed, prepares and submits various budgetary reports, oversee purchasing and expense management, collaborates with business manager and team leader to ensure successful collections effort. Designs, executes, and maintains effective system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded and financial information is reliable. Administers use of facilities, equipment and space, as well as maintenance and repair of existing facilities and equipment. Works in close collaboration with transplant administrative leadership, transplant physicians, coordinators. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Req Bachelor’s Degree Degree in Nursing Req 5 years Experience as an RN Req Must be computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel. (Required within LA City only) The annual base salary range for this position is $145,600.00 - $240,240.00. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare needs of patients and formulates nursing diagnoses based on the analysis of that assessment data, and documents data in a concise and timely manner. Develops and follows a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Identifies expected outcomes for the plan of care individualized to the child, family, and situation. Implements and coordinates the delivery of care while employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward the attainment of outcomes. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Collaborates with the family in the conduct of nursing practice. All decisions and actions are on behalf of the patient and family and in all areas of practice are determined in an ethical manner. Integrates research findings into practice and, where appropriate, participates in the generation of new knowledge in innovative ways. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Serves as a leader in the practice setting and in the profession. Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in nursing practice. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in planning and delivering care. Heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling is required up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently, and 10lbs constantly to move objects of up to 150 lbs. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 150 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting squatting, reaching, and standing are required.
