Where You Will Work: 4CD is a 26 bed Medical/Telemetry unit comprised of both private and semi-private patient rooms. Most patients are admitted by the Emergency Department, making it a great learning experience for new graduates. You will care for a very diverse population with multiple acute and chronic illnesses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, diabetes, wounds, cellulitis, stroke, pneumonia, and minor surgical patients (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, etc). We are a fast-paced medical unit which is the perfect place to learn new skills and have the opportunity to work as a partner alongside our multidisciplinary team. Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures, as well as the ability to operate equipment foot controls. Must be able to respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de-escalation and restraints when necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste may occur; appropriate protective equipment must be used.
