Acute Care Pediatrics 12 is a 24-bed pediatric unit. The staff care for patients from a variety of medical specialties including, but not limited to nephrology, neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, gastrologic, and endocrinology. The unit also sees surgical specialties such as trauma, plastics, and general care surgery patients. The unit consists of a combination of general care and step-down patients. Special to ACP 12 are the hematology/oncology, epilepsy monitoring and bone marrow transplant populations. Additionally, some patients are monitored by telemetry in our general care and step-down environments. The Nurse Clinician demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the complex patients and their responses to actual or potential health problems.
