The OR Technician I performs various duties to assist with surgical procedures and related operating room activities. Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. BLS Certification required. Two (2) years Adult Medical/Surgical experience is required. Proficiency in the English language is required. Phlebotomy Certification or IV Certification is required. Entry level candidates with a BSN may be considered on a completion of academic preparation/clinical experience/residency certification program. Ability to employ problem solving techniques and critical thinking. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to organize care/activities of multiple patients. 
Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room position is to operationalize the care delivery system in the Operating Room through the skillful directing, coaching, support, and delegation to staff in the provision of clinically and fiscally sound care and services to achieve patient/family goals, efficiency, and safety. The Nurse Manager has 24 hours responsibility for the unit/service area and develops dynamically functioning surgical teams. She/he sustains the daily operational functioning of the surgical service and makes immediate modifications to prevent impediments and delays. This role is also accountable for the execution of the unit/service area Performance Improvement Plan. The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room has extensive knowledge of the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, AORN Standards, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards, Patient Bill of Rights, Department of Health Standards, Patient/Family Centered Principles Policies and Procedures. She/he engenders confidence, trust and fosters collaborative/collegial relationships that generate staff achievement and pride. As a license professional and member of the University Hospital leadership team, the Nurse Manager exemplifies the behavioral expectations articulated for this role. Qualifications Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of (3) years clinical care delivery experience. Certification in Quality Improvement Techniques is preferred. BLS (CPR) is required. 
Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to be accountable for the care activities, safetyand goal achievements of assigned patients through assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problemsand evaluating patient’s response to the care. These responsibilities also include patient education and discharge planning. TheRegistered Professional Nurse places emphasis on mobilizing patients and preventing skin break down, falls and implements theappropriate measures to achieve this. The Registered Professional Nurse is a member of a designated care team and collaborates,coordinates and guides team members in planning patient care in a safe environment and achieving patient care goals according to thepatient/family developmental stage and cultural expectations. The competent practice of the Professional Registered Nurse is evidenced by patient/family goal achievement, patient/family satisfaction,care and services demonstrated and thoroughly documented in accordance with American Nurses Association Standards of ClinicalPractice, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards Sentinel Event Alert Recommendation, Patient/FamilyCentered Principles, Department of Health Standards and University Hospital Policies and Procedures. Successful completion of a Progressive Care Course or Progressive Care Certification, preferred but must be achieved within first six (6) months of hire. Phlebotomy Certification or IV Certification is preferred but must be achieved within first six (6) months of hire. Proficiency in the English language is required. FIT Testing required. Successful completion of a Critical Care Course or CCRN Certification preferred.
