PRN Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant - Hickory NC

Join QualDerm Partners as a PRN Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant in Hickory, NC QualDerm Partners is looking for an experienced Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant to join our Hickory, NC team. This is a great opportunity for someone with dermatology experience who enjoys hands-on patient care, surgical support, and being part of a collaborative clinical team. In this role, you will work need to be available to work as needed Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, supporting Mohs surgeons during procedures, preparing patients, assisting with documentation, and helping ensure each patient feels comfortable and well cared for throughout their visit. Dermatology experience is required, and Mohs or surgical dermatology experience is a strong plus. Responsibilities Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and addressing patient concerns. Assist surgeons by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment during procedures. Ensure the surgical environment is maintained in compliance with safety and infection control standards. Provide post-operative instructions and support to patients to promote optimal recovery. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic health records (EHR). Coordinate with administrative staff to schedule appointments and follow-up visits efficiently. High school diploma or equivalent; Mohs Surgery experience required. Experience working in dermatology is required. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical aseptic techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment. Required Education & Credentials: Graduate of accredited nursing program. Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State. BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date. ACLS certification within three months of employment Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within three months of employment and maintains annual re-certification.
