Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist

Overview: Responsible for preparing patients for treatment, testing, and examination by a Provider; assists licensed nurse with patient flow, connecting patients with ancillary services, maintains work area and exam rooms, as well as stocks supplies. You ability to make an impact is limited only by your passion and creativity. Responsibilities: Performs venipuncture, arterial puncture, capillary puncture, and other fluid collection on patients. Performs waive test sample collection, processing and resulting. Ensures specimens are appropriately labeled and identified for lab processing. Responsible for instrumentation, supplies, ordering, and other quality assignments. Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE Standards of Behavior. Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA. When employee holds a Medical Assistant Certified and is assigned: Responsible for preparing the day’s flow of patients through the clinic. When employee holds a Medical Assistant Certified and is assigned: Responsible for patient flow during the work day, ensuring that Provider and patient needs are met When employee holds a Medical Assistant Certified and is assigned: Communicates with patients, as directed by Provider and Licensed Nurse. When employee holds a Medical Assistant Certified and is assigned: Responsible for managing provider computer desktop flow on a daily basis. When employee holds a Medical Assistant Certified: Administers and demonstrates knowledge of medications administered up to scope of licensure under WAC 246-826-100 – “Demonstrates knowledge of medications prior to administration, including but not limited to: correct dosage, route, anatomic site, expected reaction, possible adverse reactions, and appropriate interventions.” When employee holds a Medical Assistant Certified and is assigned: Responsible for assisting with patient education. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Professional and Technical Knowledge: Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and mathematical skills typically acquired through completion of a high school program. Possesses familiarity with the processes and operations performed during the work day, facilitating patient flow, while accurately maintaining appropriate health information in the patient’s electronic medical record. Ability to demonstrate basic medical terminology/anatomy. License and Certification: Ability to possess a current Medical Assistant Phlebotomy license with the State of Washington. May have a Medical Assistant Certified license instead or in addition. Ability to possess a current BLS for Healthcare Providers card. Communications Skills: Possesses the ability to successfully form, foster, and improve relationships with members of a culture different from one's own. Possesses ability to present oneself professionally. Possesses ability to meet with a variety of people, both formally and informally, and to communicate well with professionals and patients. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred.

APP Provider - PA-C/ARNP

$110,000 - $135,000 / year
Overview: The Advanced Practitioner supplies an expanded level of responsibility in health care services by combining those of the Advanced Practitioner and the Physician within the framework of mutually established medical guidelines and approved by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Washington. Advanced Practitioner (ARNP/PA-C) salary range: $110,000 - $135,000 (plus RVU Incentive Bonus) with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Physician Preceptor and within the framework of policies established by CBHA’s Principles of Practice, this position provides direct patient care. Provide primary, acute and chronic care, including emergency care, in order to achieve, maintain and restore optimal patient outcomes. Engage in health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of frequently occurring types of illnesses and other medical problems. Assume accountability to Preceptor for screening, treatment, and follow-up care. Assume responsibility for clinical management of those cases which fall within the scope of authority. Provide patient care in a satellite Clinic, when assigned. As assigned, conduct specialty clinics within the clinic or community as the primary care provider to a specific group of patients, for example, Migrant School Physicals, Diabetic groups, sport physicals, well baby clinics, etc. Provide back-up to Perinatal Care Program provider and deliver services according to the CBHA perinatal protocols. Participate in planning and instituting health care programs as a peer member of the health care team. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Professional and Technical Knowledge: Preference will be given to prior successful experience in a family practice clinical setting. License and Certification: Physician Assistant : Possesses or is eligible for licensure in Washington State and who is certified (PA-C) by the National Association of Physicians Assistants. Family Nurse Practitioner : Possesses or is eligible for licensure in Washington State as an ARNP. Technical Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to create simple displays of information. Ability to become proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record Software. Communication Skills: Responsible for effectively communicating clinical information to non-clinical staff, patients and others. Ability to provide effective communication of information in written (including electronic) correspondence in both formal and informal environments.
