This Infusion RN position requires excellent written/verbal communication and critical thinking skills in the delivery of oncology and non-oncology infusion therapy and related services (clinical trials, labs, dressing changes, injections, and so forth). The Infusion RN gives chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusion, and other infusion-related services as well as blood work, dressing changes, and injections in a fast-paced outpatient infusion center setting. This position will receive training in clinical trials. Using the nursing process, the Infusion RN ensures patient safety, symptom management, and patient/family education in a fast-paced outpatient infusion center. The Infusion RN must proactively anticipate and respond to urgent medical emergencies. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months). Minimum one (1) year of recent (within the last 6 months) oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience. Must complete CTI Training within 6 months of hire. Experience actively administering a wide variety of chemotherapy regimens and corresponding knowledge of oncology diagnoses and treatments. Demonstrates strong independent judgment and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions, solve problems efficiently, and prioritize multiple layers of information and responsibilities to quickly assess moderately complex situations and develop effective solutions. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while utilizing strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
