Description We are seeking New Graduate Nurses interested in Postpartum/Mother Baby. The New Graduate Nurse Program will offer varied start dates based on graduation and NCLEX dates. This position is open to any new graduate nurse with less than 12 months of experience. Our Postpartum Unit is a 50-bed, family-centered care environment where nurses support mothers, newborns, and families during one of life’s most meaningful transitions. You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative nursing team focused on delivering evidence-based care, patient education, and compassionate emotional support. Unit Overview Our Postpartum Unit is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for: Postpartum mothers following vaginal and cesarean deliveries Newborns receiving routine couplet care Antepartum patients requiring inpatient monitoring Gynecologic patients recovering from surgical procedures The unit works in close collaboration with Labor & Delivery and the NICU/Nursery to ensure seamless transitions from delivery through postpartum recovery. Interdisciplinary teamwork with OB/GYNs, neonatologists, and other specialists is central to our practice, with 24/7 physician coverage available to support complex clinical needs. General Program Overview: The twelve-month UNC Health Rex Nurse Residency program supports the transition from academia to practice for new graduate nurses. The wrap-around support from all levels of nursing is designed to assist new nurses in developing competence and confidence in the professional role. In addition to clinical orientation on the unit, the Residency program provides structured clinical and professional growth. The first component of the Residency involves engaging classroom sessions highly focused on clinical skills and issues relevant to the unit and service line of the participants. The next component is comprised of continuing education professional development sessions, as well as completion of a group evidence-based practice project. Additionally, within the 12-month program, participants will complete milestones as defined by their unit and attend regular check ins with their unit leadership and educator. Include an interview with family members and informal caregivers who are present at the time of the assessment. Provides training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I’s as needed to ensure patient safety and compliance. Provides effective and safe teaching using patient-centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals. Effectively and timely communicates with Option Care’s Clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care. Prepares clinical documentation in real-time during visits and submits to the nursing department to comply with established timelines for billing optimization. Completes all documentation legibly and applies approved abbreviations and documentation error correction practices per Option Care’s policy. Coordinates discharge planning and prepares discharge summaries with patient instructions and thoroughly reports patient care needs, progress and goals when transferring care. Demonstrates compliance with agency operations, Option Care’s policies and procedures, professional standards, local, state, federal regulations/guidelines, and accreditation standards.
