The Department of Ortho Sports Medicine is currently seeking a per diem Certified Medical Assistant to work at The Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables. The Certified Medical Assistant 1 per diem will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist the medical providers. The CMA shall assist patients’ healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service. The MA provides hands-on care to patients while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies and procedures, under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. The physician in charge may delegate the tasks to oversee the MA to a Nurse or Designee in charge of the unit/clinic. The CMA shall adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize, respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professionalism. The CMA provides care within the philosophy, mission, vision, and values, as well as within the policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing and the University of Miami.
