Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for residents. Advises supervising charge nurse of resident’s status at beginning and end of shift. Contributes knowledge of resident’s conditions/needs to resident care plans. Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within the parameters of established policy and procedure. Observes and reports on residents’ conditions, and documents observations as required. Complies with requirements of procedures for safe lifting and/or safe transfer of residents per established policies and procedures. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Assures that equipment is clean and functional. Performs incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks as may be required to maintain a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Other duties as assigned. Narcotic count (sign on shift must be completed at this time’s) all narcotic count sheets verified Room rounds with off going nurse ( make sure CNA’s are also doing rounds ) Review 24hr report for lab follow up , diagnostic follow ups and any pending orders Medication passes per time schedule, G-tubes, PO medications, PRN medications, Nebulizer treatments, PICC line medications and skin treatments (if any). Complete skin assessment assigned for shift Ensure all CNA’s documentation on ADLs Ensure all shower sheets are turned in to you and reviewed before end of shift Complete all charting, changes in condition and/or new orders or treatments received for specific resident in their charts. Point Click Care electronic documentation. Document schedule or cancelled doctors’ appointments in residents’ chart. (inform transportation of changes) For OOP residents please fill out appropriate form, and head to toe assessment completed. The Department of Ortho Sports Medicine is currently seeking a per diem Certified Medical Assistant to work at The Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables. The Certified Medical Assistant 1 per diem will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist the medical providers. The CMA shall assist patients’ healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service. The MA provides hands-on care to patients while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies and procedures, under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. The physician in charge may delegate the tasks to oversee the MA to a Nurse or Designee in charge of the unit/clinic. The CMA shall adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize, respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professionalism.
