Under the direction of the RN, the Psychiatric Nursing Assistant (PNA) performs the activities related to the implementation of nursing care plans and the nursing standards, policies and procedures. The PNA is responsible for contributing to the development, evaluation and reassessment of care plans through observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and physical status. The PNA is also responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the safe and therapeutic environment of the unit. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse position is to participate under the administrative, clinical direction and leadership of the Director of the Neonatology Program and in collaborative relationship in the (Mother-Baby Unit), Neonatal Intensive Care Units (FICN and FIN Nurseries), Labor and Delivery areas with the other healthcare providers.
