Position Title Medical Assistant, Medical Group Job Description Purpose & Scope: The Medical Assistant ensures the clinical environment is cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care. Performs phlebotomy, prepares specimens for transport to labs, performs simple laboratory procedures, takes vital signs, prepares patients for procedures, and assists with patient flow. Provides general clinical support to physicians and other staff, Answers phones, makes appointments, collects co-pays and payment, assists with billing, and adds information to the electronic medical record. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred. Six months of healthcare experience is required. Experience: One year of healthcare/medical - primary care/office experience is preferred. One year of medical terminology experience is required. Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required. Experience in clinical pharmacology is required. Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them. Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization. Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs) Minimum Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following: Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses Complete Masters within 3 years of start date. Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License. Description Position Summary: Provides direct and individual nursing care to assigned residents based on nursing standards and under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care (DRC). Also maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations and the standards of HRA. Essential Functions: Ensures quality and safe delivery of health services to residents Implements plan of care formulated by physician and DRC Provides accurate and timely documentation of care given Assesses and provides resident and family/care giver information pertinent to diagnosis or plan of care Administers medication per physician orders. Documents properly on MAR. Observes for any adverse reaction and notifies physician accordingly Assembles resident charts, resident records and checks that all necessary forms are complete and accurate Prepares incident/accident reports for residents as needed per policy. Notifies physician and family post incident/accident per policy and documents appropriately Maintains safe and healthy working environment and uses safe work methods and procedures in accordance with clinical standards Assists resident in learning appropriate self-care activities Organizes and monitors associates and material resources necessary for meeting the needs of the residents under his/her care Recognizes emergencies and life-threatening situations and initiates appropriate action(s) Maintains confidentiality and resident rights regarding all resident personal information Performs any other duties requested by supervisor The ability to work in a safe and alert manner The ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residents Must disclose any medication that might impair associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently.
