How you make a difference The Certified Nursing Assistant performs basic and specialized nursing care functions under the supervision of licensed nurses. They adhere to local and regulatory policies and procedures to ensure proper patient care. The Nursing Assistant collaborates with other healthcare team members and correctional officers to plan and implement patient care activities in a correctional setting. After a general orientation to medical-surgical and psychiatric patient care areas, they may also float between units to ensure adequate nursing staff for patient care areas. Key Responsibilities Provides basic nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse, including assistance with ADLs, vital sign measurement, and accurate documentation of patient data. Collaborates with other members of the health care team, participates in staff meetings and training sessions, and notifies the licensed nurse of any patient concerns or issues. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. Adheres to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while also reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested. Additional Details This role will be a true PRN/As needed role, with coverage being needed periodically to cover time off for our full time providers. Candidates should be comfortable with substance withdrawal management, partnering with psych NP's and behavioral health staff, infectious disease management, MAT and standardized protocols (Title 15/NCCHC/ACA). In addition, candidates should feel comfortable doing suturing, incision and draining (abscesses are extremely common), basic wound care and debridement, splinting/minor fracture management, EKG interpretation, and emergency response (codes and overdoses) Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment. Must have and maintain current CPR certification. Responsibilities This position is accountable for providing and managing competent nursing care to the neonatal patient that requires moderate to complex assessments, interventions and level of nursing vigilance. The NICU RNII is responsible for working in a team environment using a multidisciplinary approach to providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning implementation and evaluation. The individualized patient care is delivered in a safe, supportive, caring and family centered environment. The RN is also responsible for supervising, coordinating and delegating personnel who participate in the provision of care to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year current NICU Level III experience is required. Current CA RN License, current certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) and current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required. RNC-NIC and/or BSN preferred.
