Administer medications and provide documentation as well as oversee and monitor staff members who administer medications. Provide prescribed medical treatment by physician’s orders and personal care services. Conduct assessments, implement health care services to be included in each Individual Service Plan (ISP), and respond to changes of condition. Provide training to staff members including universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration. Serve as liaison and advocate with other medical and professional service providers as well as work with external agencies to coordinate services and ensure consistent treatment of individuals receiving care. Provide training for individuals served with topics including self-medication, prescribed treatments, sex education/STD prevention, and smoking cessation. Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Nursing or related field, or state certificate One year of experience working with population served in a nursing capacity Current state LPN or LVN licensure for state of residence Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance Other certifications as required by state licensing regulations such as CPR/FA and HIV/AIDS certification, BBP, and ACT training Ability to effectively communicate with staff, individuals served, and families Why Join Us? M30 is a 13-bed ICU Stepdown Unit that provides specialized care for patients ranging from newborns to young adults (up to age 26). The unit primarily cares for respiratory and post-surgical patients, serving as a bridge between intensive care and general inpatient units. As an upskilled unit, M30 nurses are trained to manage higher-acuity patients under the ICU service, offering an advanced level of care beyond that of a standard medical-surgical floor. As an RN Resident, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. All the while, you will continue growing as an RN and gaining extensive hands-on experience in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving healthcare setting. A caregiver in this position works rotating day/night shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability). Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk. Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently. Document in patients’ medical records Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross upon hire or first year of employment New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. A Brief Overview UH Parma Medical Center Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma Center. The ED is a 32 bed unit with 24 beds on the main side including 23 monitor beds and 2 trauma bays.
