The Opportunity The Certified Caregiver - CNA position is part of the Health & Wellness Team responsible for providing care to the residents. This position requires a combination of stamina, empathy, and compassion to effectively support the needs of residents. What You’ll Do Accurately perform and record vital signs, height and weight. Accurately calculate and record weight gain/loss and fluid intake/output. Maintain a clean and safe resident environment. Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a supervisor. Perform palliative and post-mortem care. Perform routine care rounds on each assigned resident, at minimum, every two hours (or more frequently as indicated). Assist residents with mobility. Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Help residents maintain comfortable positions in bed or in chairs to promote comfort. Assist with light housekeeping tasks. Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies and remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities include customer service, administering medication, caregiving, resident safety and communication. What You’ll Bring POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old, or the age required by state regulations, whichever is higher. Must pass State and Company criminal background/drug screens. A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred and may be mandatory in certain states. Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and successful passing of a state-approved competency examination, where required. Demonstrates effective time management skills. The Opportunity The Med Tech position provides support for our community’s residents with the essential day-to-day tasks they can no longer perform or need help with. Med Techs are responsible for administering daily medications. Duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting samples. For outpatient ambulatory work, this would require 7-8 half days in outpatient ambulatory clinics and at Uhealth locations. We have ambulatory practices at UHhealth Towers, UMHC Crohns and colitis Center, Kendall, Lennar, Doral, Sole Mia, Boca, Plantation, Deerfield sites. For Inpatient rotations, APP will round both independently and collaboratively on Hepatology Inpatient Service at University of Miami hospital no later than 8 am and have proper sign-out of patients with fellows at the end of the day and prior to weekends. Recognizes deviations from normal in the physical assessment. Works in collaboration with a physician in formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-up. Writes prescriptions for medication, blood products based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care in accordance with written practice protocols. APP will independently follow patients in an outpatient setting and manage the care of patients concurrently. Follows state regulatory requirements for supervision of nursing services. Manages all members of the IDT including aspects of scheduling, productivity, mentoring, pay practices, time keeping, performance reviews, and colleague support. Models and facilitates communication between colleagues including medical records, business office, intake, clinical team, and leadership. Manages the care for a caseload of patients if needed to support ebb and flow of census changes. Participates in after-hours shifts as needed including primary and back-up on-call. Directs responsibility for the management of Pharmacy, Medical Supplies, Durable Medical Equipment, Mileage and Labor for program to meet budget expectations. May be designated the administrator or alternate administrator for the licensure of the program based on state requirements. Ensures maximum utilization of resources. Establishes priorities for patient care based on patient needs as evidence by completion of assigned duties within shift. · Performs Pre-Operative and Post-Operative care and instruction for each assigned surgical patient during shift. · Performs dressing changes using aseptic technique. · Collects and labels specimens per policy when ordered by physician. · Performs bedside glucose monitoring according to policy, performs ostomy care to include irrigation, appliance usage and reinforcement of teaching. · Inserts intermittent or indwelling urinary catheter using aseptic technique. · Administers oxygen therapy according to physician order. · Transfer patients in/out of the GI station in an efficient manner, by obtaining a complete and correct set of physician orders.
