Department Specific Functions: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School Health Clinics We are seeking a dedicated and skilled LPN to provide practical nursing care in school health clinics. Key responsibilities include administering first aid, performing follow-up health assessments, managing student health records, and coordinating care plans for students with medical conditions. You will assist with medical supplies, ensure compliance with vaccination standards, and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff. Provide first aid, follow-up assessments, and direct practical nursing care to students according to established clinic protocols. Respond to students' health emergencies and perform care following standing orders within the confines of Florida Statute for LPNs. Manage and update student health records and emergency information, inputting necessary documents into the appropriate databases. Administer medications, and treatments, and coordinate care plans for students with medical needs, documenting in clinic databases as necessary. Ensure vaccination compliance and make appropriate communication with parents/guardians on required health matters. Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard. Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions. Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities. Other Registered Nurse (RN) duties as assigned. Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) License for the state in which the nurse practices. Current Health Certificate (per facility Registered Nurse (RN) contract or state regulation). Current PPD or Chest X-Ray. Current BLS card. One year prior Registered Nurse (RN) experience preferred.
