Maintain all health equipment for safe and proper function. Review and implement incident reports; evaluate for need of intervention to minimize risk of further occurrences. Ensure that all new associates receive general and specific job training. Continually assess resident needs in relation to associate training needs to determine priorities in designing an ongoing orientation program. Track and ensure regulatory training requirements are met for associates annually. Incorporate State requirements during in-service training and orientation. Supervise and evaluate abilities of personal care associates. Maintain professional accountability for personal nursing practice and care delegated to non-licensed associates. Added Responsibilities Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting. Be familiar with Oxford Health Services Policies & Procedures Manual and Oxford Associate Handbook and Nurse Practice Act in the state of licensure and practice. Perform other related assignments as required. Attend required in-service training. Be willing and able to work in any facility care position. Interview and evaluate job applicants. Summary: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials. Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests. Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records. Assist doctors with charting Chart auditing, CPT and ICD-9 review Venipunctures, EKG's, Vital Signs, Blood draws, and Injections Prep patients for examination and treatment, and assist during minor office procedures Prepare exam and treatment rooms (instrument preparation and sterilization, prescription refills, faxing, and filing) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications Medical Assistant experience CPT I certification Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections. Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet Neat and professional appearance Effective written and verbal communication skills Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant Working Conditions Center-Based. Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical RN experience in ICU, ER, or similar high-acuity settings. Infusion experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Valid RN License. Current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS/PALS certification. Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills for team collaboration and patient interaction. Recent IV experience. Essential Functions: Welcome patients and escort them to their private infusion rooms. Educate patients about their treatments and address any concerns about adverse reactions. Administer prescribed medications and establish IV access, including central lines. Monitor and document patients' conditions and responses to treatments. Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation. Maintain the flow of patient care and manage emergency situations calmly and effectively. Keep infusion rooms clean and well-stocked. Answer phone calls as needed, adhering to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Responsibilities The Clinical Nursing Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations. The Clinical Supervisor prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel. Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally. The Clinical Supervisor is responsibility and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Current and valid California Registered Nurse license Current BCLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. Current ACLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation certificate within 30 days from date of hire. Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate is required within 90 days from date of hire and maintain current. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred. Training on Violence in the Workplace prevention within 90 days from date of hire.
