PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Assess patients' physical and psychosocial status through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies. Write prescriptions for medication and blood products based on laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and care post-discharge in accordance with written practice protocols. Based on findings, determine patients' eligibility for entry into clinical trials. Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests. Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician. Administer therapeutic measures / obtain specimens as prescribed. Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response and plan. Dictate or writes patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner. Assist in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care. Conduct or participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure patients are receiving appropriate and quality care. Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed. Triage patients to determine the urgency of physician evaluation. Document and report care in an accurate, timely manner using appropriate forms and records. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and to remain flexible in the changing healthcare environment. Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency. Meet with the public outside the institution and efficiently market and promote cancer treatment. Determine work priorities, assign work and insure proper completion of work assignments. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, master’s degree in nursing or post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program 0-3 Years Licensed as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida, prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply Certification from PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation (ONCC). The Care Giver/Med Tech role includes providing hands on care, physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment. Responsibilities: Care Giver: Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift. Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities. Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication. Reports all resident concerns made while assisting resident with the medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator (HCC). Restocks medication cart after all medication passes. Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system. Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift. Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications. Follows re-fill process for medications. Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates. Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications: Med Tech Certification required along with at least 3 years of experience as Med Tech High School diploma/GED Must be 18 years of age.
