Overview The Charge Nurse has responsibility for managing all aspects of nursing care during their assigned shift. This includes facilitating patient admissions, transfers and discharges as well as coordinating daily administrative duties such as scheduling, staffing and nursing care assignments. Overview As a member of the treatment team, the Licensed Practical Nurse will provide direct patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and attending clinician within the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) scope of practice. Conducts bedside glucose monitoring, as appropriate. Implements preventative care, monitors skin status, and performs wound treatments per orders in the individualized patient’s treatment plan. Overview The UF Health Cardiac Critical Care Service Line includes a 17-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and a 24-bed Coronary Care Unit (CCU) , united under one leadership team to provide seamless, high-quality care for adult cardiac medicine and cardiac surgery patients from admission through discharge. The CVICU delivers high-acuity critical care, including advanced life-support therapies such as invasive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support (Impella & Intra Aortic Balloon Pump), CRRT, temporary pacing, advanced airway management, and ECMO, while the CCU manages intermediate-level patients from the same population. Patients include those with acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, post–cardiac arrest, and those recovering from CABG, valve and structural heart procedures (TAVR), PCI, ablations, and pacemaker placement. Overview The Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients in select phases of Perioperative care (as competency demonstrates). This care utilizes the nursing process and the standards of care of a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/ tasks may be delegated to Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Associated, Guest Associates and Anesthesia Technologists. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the RN manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups. Required Education: Associate's Degree Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered. Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Specialty Certification. : Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida BLS from the American Heart Association is required ACLS from the American Heart Association is required PALS is required within 6 months from the date of hire/transfer. Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Effective March 19, 2024 ACLS and PALS are not required for OR Admin (633200) and North Surgery Center (633480). Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Professional Specialty Certification Preferred. Required Experience: PACU Nurses need a minimum of 1 year critical care (ICU/ED) experience. OR Perioperative Fellows can be new graduate nurses that may apply to the program. OR Nurses need 1-2 years of related OR experience. Preferred Experience: 2+ years of relevant perioperative nursing experience 
Overview Under the supervision of the Ambulatory Administrator or Director, Manager and Medical Director, utilizes the Nursing Process to provide care, coordination of care and patient education to a group of patients, using the medical home mode. Assists providers in the provision of quality healthcare. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. Provides excellent customer service in a team-based environment. Responsibilities Assists the clinician in delivering quality patient care including measuring vital signs, obtaining history, initiating EMR progress note and updating allergy, medication and problem lists. Performs or assists with dressing changes, pulse oximetry, respiratory treatments, point of care testing, vision & hearing screens, and other required procedures as indicated. Facilitates scheduling and follow up for patients referred for consults and procedures. Administers vaccines, medications and treatments as ordered by provider and within scope of practice. If in a clinic that serves pediatric patients, ensures vaccines are stocked and in compliance with Vaccines for Children/Florida SHOTS program. Vaccines For Children responsibility applies in clinics that participate in the program. Plans and implements age-appropriate care based on assessment, diagnosis, standard of care, medical treatment plan, and progress toward desired outcome. Assesses individual physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of patients. Identifies patient/family education needs for growth, development, safety, nutrition, and wellness; coordinates or delivers training and evaluates the effectiveness of the teaching plan. Accurately and efficiently documents findings, plans and interventions in the electronic medical record. Evaluates the effectiveness of care and documents subsequent changes to plan in the patient medical record. Acquires and maintains knowledge and skills in nursing practice to contribute to the professional development of self, peers, colleagues, and others. Anticipates and performs preliminary specimen collection and CLIA waived lab testing as indicated (e.g. Urinalysis, rapid strep, hemoglobin, lead, etc.). Provides phone triage and coordination of scheduling urgent appointments as indicated.
