This role will also include responsibilities in the stress lab, CCTA, Cardiac MRI’s, Hospital Consults and H&P’s for Cardiac Electrophysiology surgeries. The Advanced Practice Professional must possess the clinical skills necessary for the comprehensive management of cardiology and electrophysiology patients, including physiological, social, and psychological assessments. The APP will collaborate with the hospital cardiology and electrophysiology teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for both inpatient and outpatient care. Writing H&P’s for Electrophysiology surgeries and assisting in consultations. Additionally, the APP will function as stress lab coverage, CCTA coverage and cardiac MRI coverage. Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Managing implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders) in the inpatient setting. Providing comprehensive care for patients with arrhythmias, including anti-arrhythmic drug therapy and anticoagulation management. This position involves treating a diverse patient population with a variety of medical conditions and post surgical care needs. The medical surgical PCA provides direct nursing care in accordance with Bristol Health's established policies, procedures, and evidence based protocols. Tasks and responsibilities include: Performs a wide variety of patient care tasks utilizing a Patient Focused Care model. Follows standardized procedures prescribed in a clinical pathway, including activities related to direct care, diagnostic testing, patient transport and documentation, as directed by RN. Orienting and mentoring new team members, following universal precautions utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment. Educational / Minimum Requirements: Basic life Support (BLS) - Active CPR certificate required High School Diploma or equivalent Active CNA certificate or One (1) year of experience in a role as a PCA, Ed Tech or CNA in acute or long term care. Good Communication Skills OR 3rd year BSN student who has completed two clinical rotations Medical Assistant OR EMT Must be willing to be floated or reassigned to another department, unit, office, or location as needed. Qualifications EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program. LICENSURE Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Standing/walking for more than half of the day. Frequently bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting and lifting.
