Full job description Medical Assistant The MA demonstrates the teamwork and collaboration needed to lead a patient focused clinic. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: The MA demonstrates the teamwork and collaboration needed to lead a patient focused clinic. The MA will facilitate the efficient patient flow of the clinic – assisting other MA’s and working as part of the MA Team, to ensure that patients are seen as quickly and skillfully as possible. The MA has the capacity to work with multiple providers, quickly learning new protocols when working with a new provider team. They recommend best practices to the Operations Manager to improve clinic processes. In preparing patients for their clinic visit, the MA is responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date electronic medical record charts including data about the patient’s present state of health to assist with proper diagnosis. The MA must be professional in their interactions with the patients; utilizing excellent customer service exhibit an ability to ask the necessary questions in a manner that is both warm and efficient while effectively maintaining the flow of the clinic schedule. FTE: 0.300000 Standard Hours : 12.00 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: The Charge Nurse is a Registered Nurse with unit lead responsibilities for patient flow and adjustment of unit staffing to meet the dynamic needs of the patients. The Charge Nurse will use the nursing process to make ongoing evaluations of patients' acuity, assessments of the staff nurses workload, and anticipate fluctuations in admissions, discharges and transfers. The facilitation of patient flow includes triaging and prioritizing admissions and overseeing the care coordination of patients being discharged/transferred. This requirement does not apply to non-BSN hires who already hold a bachelor's or graduate degree in a field other than nursing. · Direct-entry BSN or MSN students who have not yet completed their nursing degree at the time of hire are not exempt, even if they hold bachelor's or graduate degrees in another field. · RNs who enroll in an MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing program may meet this requirement through that program. If a BSN is awarded as part of the program, it must be completed within five (5) years of enrollment. If no BSN is awarded, the MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing must be completed within six (6) years of enrollment. EDUCATION PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. LICENSURE REQUIRED: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT: American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within one year hire.
