Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal

Overview Legacy Health offers an exciting growth opportunity to join a well-established team of collaborative and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs). This role provides the opportunity to practice across both Level III and Level IV NICU settings within the Legacy system. NNPs are integral to delivery attendance and the medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including daily rounding on NNP service patients. In addition to clinical care, the role includes telemedicine resuscitation coverage for Legacy Level I nursery sites and opportunities to contribute to non-clinical initiatives that support the highest standards of care for NICU patients and their families. Responsibilities Patient Care Management: The NNP’s work collaboratively with Neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists in the NICU as well as pediatricians and obstetricians in the Labor and Delivery and Family Birthing centers to guide the care of neonates and infants across the care continuum. The NNP’s are able to practice in an autonomous role utilizing technical procedural skills as well as essential decision making in the care of these patients. Nursing Care Support: The NNP team provide ongoing support to the nursing staff whether on the unit or through formal education opportunities. The NNP’s are key leaders in patient care projects that support both nursing care and medical management. Resuscitation: The NNP’s attend deliveries in person at each of the medical centers and via a telehealth support platform at the other level I nursery sites to provide a consistent high level of care for newborns throughout the Legacy system. Discharge Planning: The entire NICU team works to provide an integrated family care experience to enable families to care for their high-risk infants within the NICU setting and beyond. The NICU values input from all members of the team including dedicated neonatal RT’s, consultants from dietary, OT/PT, lactation, as well as the core nursing, medical and leadership staff. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as an NICU Staff Nurse, Level III preferred. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. National Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required. Current applicable state license as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NNP-PP) required. Nurse Practitioner Endocrinology

This position works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Assigned principal responsibility for primary health care of patients. Seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol. The Nurse Practitioner typically remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient. The Nurse Practitioner may refer the patient to a physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment, but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification. Responsibilities Assesses the physical condition of a group of patients by performing physical examinations including ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests and obtaining medical histories. Assumes ongoing responsibility for each patient from discovery of the disorder to recovery. Formulates the medical plan and prognosis based on patient's condition. Consults with physician(s) regarding patient health care plans and treatment. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Performs selected invasive procedures for therapeutic and/or diagnostic reasons within scope of validated competence. Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatment and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy. Complies with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiates and maintains required records and legal documents. Participates in quality improvement activities. Counsels patients, families and significant others about health and illness, and promotes health maintenance. Establishes and documents the health care plan and prognosis, maintaining records of each case and evaluates the effectiveness of the plan. Initiates drug therapy, taking full responsibility for such therapy. Consults with a physician prior to implementing the therapy, as necessary. Determines when the patient has recovered from the disorder and releases the patient. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. Experience: Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position, and include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field. Skills/Knowledge: Basic familiarity with computers preferred. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) required. Current applicable state license as a Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required. Current certification dependent upon the specific position to include Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Pay Range USD $60.65 - USD $90.37 /Hr.
