Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Operating Room Technician II position is to be under the direct supervision of the professional nurse. The OR Technician II performs various duties to assist with surgical procedures and related operating room activities. The OR Technician II delivers care as reflected in the Association of Surgical Technologists’ Recommended Standards of Practice in a manner that is cost-effective without compromising quality of care. The OR Technician II possesses knowledge of the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. The OR Technician II demonstrates competency to scrub for minor/major surgical and endoscopic surgical procedures. An Operating Room technician II is a non-certified technician. Potential for exposure to anesthesia waste gases, ethylene oxide, harsh disinfectants, sterilizing agents, high steam pressure agents and radiation. Ensure that bedfast residents are repositioned as directed by NCC but not less than two repositions per resident hourly. Performs restorative and rehabilitative activities as instructed and as directed by Plan of Care. Assists in applying safety restraints to residents when directed; Monitors residents in restraints, release restraints and documents according to policy and procedure Ensures that each resident who can use a call bell has one within reach and remind him/her to use it. Assists co-workers with lifting, positioning and other procedures as necessary. Be aware of facility policy on child abuse and/or neglect and promptly report any instances of abusive or inappropriate behaviors towards any resident to the NCC. Knows and follows The Center policy and procedure with regard to infection control including hand washing and types of isolation. Keep resident care area clean and free of clutter. Report any unsafe conditions immediately to NCC. Properly stores and safeguard residents’ clothing and reports too many or too few clothing and or toys to NCC. Feeds residents or teaches residents to feed themselves as appropriate. Responsibilities The Patient Throughput Coordinator will work with multiple entities to find and surmount the barriers to discharge of patient. This position acts as the designated liaison who facilitates and coordinates the transfer of patients into and within University Hospital. Works with referring agencies, hospitals, clinics, and the emergency department to ensure safe, timely transition of patients and clinically manages patient movement between units from the PACU, Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, procedural clinics and pre-admits for all service lines. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited RN program B.S. N. (required); M.S.N. preferred RN in the State of New York BCLS certificate PALS certification preferred Completion of courses mandated for continuation of RN license, (ex. Infection Control course; Child Abuse course.) Experience Minimum of two years pediatric experience. Minimum of three years experience in supervisory role. Experience in pediatric and adolescent chronic and restorative nursing modalities preferred. Employee Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently. Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room position is to operationalize the care delivery system in the Operating Room through the skillful directing, coaching, support, and delegation to staff in the provision of clinically and fiscally sound care and services to achieve patient/family goals, efficiency, and safety. The Nurse Manager has 24 hours responsibility for the unit/service area and develops dynamically functioning surgical teams. She/he sustains the daily operational functioning of the surgical service and makes immediate modifications to prevent impediments and delays. This role is also accountable for the execution of the unit/service area Performance Improvement Plan. The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room has extensive knowledge of the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, AORN Standards, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards, Patient Bill of Rights, Department of Health Standards, Patient/Family Centered Principles Policies and Procedures. Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to provide direct patient care, perform nursing procedures, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for diagnostic and interventional cardiology patients in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting as observed by the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager, and patient/family feedback unless otherwise noted. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Perform nursing procedures for diagnostic and interventional cardiology patients. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout treatment. Ensure care quality as observed by the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager. Incorporate patient and family feedback into care evaluation Qualifications What You’ll Bring Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Minimum one (1) year of experience in special procedures, radiology, or Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory required. Applicants with at least one (1) year of recent experience in Critical Care, Telemetry, or Emergency Department nursing will also be considered. Current ACLS and BLS certifications required. Completion of 6–8 weeks of Cath Lab procedure training with an experienced nurse preceptor for newly hired Cath Lab nurses. Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law) The expected hourly range for this position is XH/99H:$55.00 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
