Job Title: Registered Nurse- Endoscopy (PRN) Job Summary: The RN - Registered Nurse is responsible for providing clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive efficient and high-quality care. The RN effectively interacts with patients and other healthcare staff while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Ocean State Endoscopy Center has an opening for a Per Diem RN. We are a 3 room Ambulatory Endoscopy Center, providing care for patients having upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Candidate must have an RI Nursing license, ACLS, BLS, 1-2 years of Medical/Surgical experience Pre-op, PACU, and Endoscopy skills preferred. Good interpersonal and customer service skills are a must. Basic computer skills needed. This position is Per Diem Monday through Friday, flexible hours to cover the needs of the Center. No weekends, no holidays, no on-call. Essential Job Functions: Participates in the development of patient care delivery systems, standards, policy and procedures, and problem-solving teams. Brief summary of purpose: The Assessment Nurse Case Manager completes face-to-face home visits for new enrollees within 30 days of enrollment to onboard and completes regulatory assessments. The Assessment Nurse Case Manager completes in person Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) in accordance with members assigned frequency. Performs VAD insertion and maintenance using ultrasound and modified Seldinger Technique (MST) for placement. Communicates with physicians, co-workers and/or nursing director, as appropriate about the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient patient quality care is provided. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Utilizes high degree of computer skills with data input and reporting mechanisms. Documentation, including data collection for quality measures of routine audits. Maintains and reorders supplies as needed daily. Coordinates scheduling and prioritizes all requests. Patient and family/significant other education; staff education and in services. Follow up patient VAD status, dressing changes and troubleshooting problems. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid RI State RN License. 2. Current BLS and ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. Infusion Nurse Certification preferred. 4. Successful completion of Ultrasound guided PICC placement using Modified Seldinger Technique program. 5. Minimum of three years’ nursing experience, with high level of competency in peripheral catheter placement. 6.
