Duties Description The RN 1 serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team performing various nursing duties, including coordinating and monitoring all aspects of medical care for residents. Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Provide direct nursing care to residents, including comprehensive nursing assessments, administering medications, implementing physician’s treatment orders, transcribing orders, and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis or culture. Provide health education to residents, their guardians and staff and participate in interdisciplinary support plan meetings. Represent nursing on the resident’s support team, provide information on nursing needs, consult and coordinate with support teams and other health care disciplines to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate resident’s care. Provide first aid and emergency nursing care. Assess, monitor and document resident’s symptoms, conditions, and care, including diet and physical activity. Identify and report resident’s responses to medications or changes in health status. Monitor resident’s medication, ensuring medications are ordered and available for administration. Meet documentation standards regarding transcribing physician’s orders, nursing progress notes, health charts and support plans. Acts as a liaison to community providers to ensure continuity of care, follow up with community providers, when necessary, advocate for resident’s needs. Participate in discharge planning by securing community appointments to ensure continuity of care. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed reports electronically using Excel and or Word. The endoscopy suite is in search of a nurse that is capable of working in the perioperative setting of preop, in the room assisting, and in the recovery room. It is imperative the person that is selected in this position be able to perform all three roles as it demonstrates flexibility in the operational needs of the endoscopy suite. Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care by implementing: P rotecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources. D emonstrating safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation. S peak ing up with safety concerns acting as the patients advocate. Handling specimens according to facility policy and procedures. Adher ing to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment. Complying with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy C ommunicating the patient’s current status to relevant parties throughout the continuum of care.
