Essential Functions Patient Care Provide direct patient care in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, including specialized duties related to end-of-life care. Implement current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the established plan of care. Assess and educate patients and their families/caregivers on diagnosis, care needs, and symptom management. Use and prepare equipment and supplies safely and effectively, consistently adhering to aseptic technique. Deliver appropriate pain and symptom management; monitor patient response to treatments and medications. Communication & Coordination Document all care accurately and timely in alignment with the plan of care. Participate in care coordination and promptly report needs requiring involvement from other disciplines (HHA, OT, PT, MSW, ST, Dietician) to the RN and/or Clinical Care Manager. Additional Responsibilities Participate in ongoing personal and professional development. Contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited practical nursing or vocational nursing program. Minimum of three years of nursing experience preferred; home health, community-based, or medical-surgical experience ideal. Current state LPN/LVN licensure. Current CPR certification. Under general supervision, the Med ical Assistant – NCT or Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) is responsible for providing patient care services, determining medical conditions, and preparing patients for examination and treatment under the direction of the Provider. The MA-NCT or Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist prepares for and performs standard x-ray examinations, while using proper technique and positioning per provider orders. Overview The official job title for this position at PPGT is “Clinician”. The Clinician provides comprehensive reproductive healthcare services to patients at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT). Works as part of the Health Services team in collaboration with Health Services and other team members to meet the clinical needs of patients as outlined in affiliate protocols. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and consults with supervising physicians as needed. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other forms of treatment, including contraception.
