Position Summary The Radiology Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to prescribe, provide, and coordinate care for radiology patients based on current standards of medical / surgical and critical care nursing. That care includes initial and ongoing assessment, drug administration, vascular access procedures, assisting physicians and technologists during procedures, and reporting on patients conditions post procedure. The radiology nurse is responsible for ensuring continuity of patient care during their visit to Imaging services. In addition, patient, family, and staff education is to be performed and documented. May have to rotate emergency call with other RN's for after hours emergencies. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation. Major arrhythmias and hemodynamic events are identified and communicated to ensure proper action for patient safety. Maintains radiopharmaceutical logs and computer entries for period of time required by the DNR. Maintains aseptic/sterile technique when prepping patients for exams. Knowledge in the management of emergency medication. Compliant with the use of Pyxis for medication access and proficient in medication management.

Position Summary Assumes responsibility for assessment of needs for nursing care and evaluation of nursing care objectives for patients during their stay in the surgical extended recovery unit. Provides nursing care which is comprehensive, individualized and patient centered. Participates in patient family teaching and provides leadership by working with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in caring for surgical postoperative patients. Education Associates in Nursing - Required Experience 1 Year Medical surgical experience - Required 1 - 2 Years Phase II recovery experience - Preferred License & Certification Professional Nurse License with State of Practice - Required Core Job Functions Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patient being served. Coordinates patient care needs with team members and other appropriate departments. Coordinates/oversees patient placement within the system and monitors house availability and assesses patient needs for house placement. Documents all patient related clinical information and assesses patient for special needs and plans appropriate intervention. Comprehensive review of the patient's medical history is performed and documented. Discharge summaries are processed with the assistance of Volunteers. Manage symptoms if presented during the call and document calls within the database. Manage compliments, concerns and complaints with documentation and forward to the appropriate clinical Director/Clinical Manager for further action and monthly report data is complied to reflect accurate volume.
