The RN Specialist provides individualized instruction related to illness, medications, vaccines, and general wellness; provides education to promote healthy lifestyles and will also assist physicians and ARNP’s as requested. The incumbent also responds to reportable disease reports. In addition, this individual will provide comprehensive medical case management services and support services. This position provides childhood and adult immunizations. This position may require travel to other DOH Clinical sites in Monroe County based on agency need. Direct Nursing Services / Case Management: The incumbent will evaluate clients in a variety of settings within the scope of Florida State and Federal guidelines, and Florida Department of Health in Monroe County policies, and the Nurse Practice Act. Services will be performed and documented accurately utilizing designated electronic medical records and established policies and procedures. Follows Florida Department of Health in Monroe County policies and procedures, including standing orders. Performs within the guidelines and standards of the Florida Nurse Practice Act. Provides direct services to clients in all DOH Monroe programs including: HIV, Adult Health, Labs, Family Planning, STD, TB, Refugee Health, Hepatitis PReP, and Immunization.
