Position Summary: The LPN/LVN will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit. Responsibilities Initiates admission database and history, and in collaboration with the RN implements patient and family teaching and care needs. Practices in compliance with all regulatory standards and adheres to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties. Performs and prioritizes nursing care tasks. Accurately follows the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of a RN. Observes and reports nursing interventions and patient responses, and documents in a timely, concise and legible manner. Recognizes, responds, and reports changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leader. Participates in unit specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested. Demonstrates principles of infection control; collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel. Assists in orienting new employees or students to unit routines. Administers IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per established hospital protocol. Performs specific advanced patient care treatments as approved to perform per hospital protocol. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: No prior experience as a LPN/LVN needed. Licensure Requirement: Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

CLIN NURSE III

Overview Registered Nurse, Critical Care Unit PRN/OCC, Hours Variable, Night Shift Fort Loudoun Medical Center Overview: Fort Loudoun Medical Center is equipped with a team of more than 200 doctors in more than 29 specialty areas. Our 87,000-square-foot hospital features advanced technology, including state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Diagnostic X-Rays and Women’s Imaging Services, as well as Nuclear Medicine technology unique to our surrounding counties. Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Responsibilities Correlates patient history and support systems across continuum of care. Completes nursing history and initiates patient education. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams making recommendations to facilitate patient care. Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs. Evaluates outcomes. Resolves issues regarding complex issues without oversight or supervision. Clinical expertise and knowledge is such that Clinical Nurse III can resolve complex patient/management/physician issues without supervision. Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities. Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age specific needs of the population served. Leads process improvement initiatives as directed that facilitate achievement of department/facility goals and quality initiatives. Serves as Clinical Coach in orientation/continuing education of new employees and students as directed. Serves as instructor for annual continuing education events such as skills day, education programs, new equipment in-services, etc. as directed. Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor. Provides four contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education. Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation program. Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education : None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
