Perkins Vocational Training Center to provide care of the ill, injured, or infirm under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician. This position will be assigned to 2nd shift. Key Responsibilities Perform nursing practice under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Perform acts requiring knowledge of skills such as are taught or acquired in approved schools for practical nursing. Observe and care for the ill, injured or infirmed within scope of his/her education and clinical skills. Collect nursing assessment data. Give counsel and apply procedures to safeguard life and health. Administer medication and treatment as prescribed. Explain medication purpose, dosage, and possible side effects to patients. Teach and delegate to others the performance of nursing care activities. Supervise licensed practical nurse applicants and unlicensed assistive personnel in the performance of patient care activities. Communicate with patients’ family members as listed on their confidentiality release form. Closely monitor the behavior of potentially suicidal patients.
