Ensures charts, medical supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are stocked and distributed as required. Follows infection control protocols and safety procedures and recommends practice changes when needed. Maintains cleanliness and hygiene in resident rooms and common areas. Performs daily assigned tasks such as clothing distribution, emptying laundry hampers, and cleaning furniture. Demonstrates empathy and patience in providing care and assistance. Encourages and maintains open communication and positive interactions with residents, families, guardians, and other visitors. Refers questions to appropriate senior staff. Assists with basic social problems and facilitates the adjustment of residents. Guides residents in therapeutic activities to enhance residents’ quality of life and maintain ADL skills. Attends and participates in in-service educational programs as well as organization meetings and committees. Responds to supervision and works cooperatively with others in provision of care and operation of facility. DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC): May operate a facility vehicle to deliver specimens off-site and/or transport residents to appointments and other activities as needed. Implements safety protocols during interactions, including restraint procedures when necessary. May accompany residents to recreational activities, recreational outings, and appointments.
