Summary Job Description: Nursing Assistant, Neuro and Cardiology unit, Telemetry, 3E Location : Baptist Health, Lexington Schedule : Full-time, 1st Shift, 7a-7p UNIT OVERVIEW: 3E is a 19 bed telemetry unit, specializing in neurology and medical cardiology patients. The staff on 3E care for patients who come to BHL for our Comprehensive Stoke Care Program and nurses on 3E have additional certifications and training to provide high quality care to our Stoke population. Patient are admitted from the ED, ICU or direct admits on this unit. JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and overall care of patients. REQUIREMENTS: -High School Diploma or equivalent -Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education. -Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain -BLS within 30 days of their hire date. Qualifications Education • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.• Associates Degree in Nursing Required• Bachelors of Science in Nursing Preferred Minimum Work Experience • Two (2) years of clinical experience required.• Three (3) years of clinical experience preferred. Licenses, Certifications, Registrations Required • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of KY or WV, depending on legal state of residence or compact nurse licensure• BLS upon hire• ACLS required within 6 months of hire: ICU, Tele, PCU, ENDO, PACU, OR, Cath Lab, ED• PALS required within 6 months: OR, PACU & ED• TNCC certification within 6 months: ED Nurses• De-escalation training certification within 6 months: All clinical locations Preferred • Professional Nursing Certification

How you make a difference The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the health care delivery system within their assigned nursing unit. They collect health status data, diagnose patients, set goals, plan and implement care, and evaluate patient progress. The Nurse Supervisor also provides patient education and ensures that ancillary personnel are qualified to perform the services they provide. Key Responsibilities Review and ensure compliance of nursing plans, medical records, and referrals with policies and procedures. Monitor and facilitate progressive patient care through team approach and patient education. Assist DON in maintaining clinical skills of registered nurses and ensuring nursing actions are within scope of licensure. Identify and address potential problems, establish priorities, and propose corrective actions. Maintain unit cleanliness and coordinate patient care with other departments, while ensuring appropriate stock levels of medical supplies and equipment maintenance. Additional Details -This is a full-time/night shift position. -RN must have management experience. -This position will work 3/12 hour shifts/with an on-call rotation. -This position offers an $8500 bonus.
