Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law. Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing. Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition. and/or the care plan. Collaborate with the primary care physician. WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas. Board Certification. DEA licensure (Optional) Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties. Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers. Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc. Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified Experience working in a long-term care setting. Successful completion of NARMC pharmacology assessment (greater or equal to 80%) after orientation. Preferred ACLS and PALS (or obtained within 12 months based on unit need). Prior acute-care/Med-Surg experience. Skill recognizing cardiac arrhythmias and responding appropriately.
